One of the most amazing things about cars is their perpetual state of evolution. Whether it’s a new owner or the same, a ride may take on a new life and a whole new look at any time. Realistically, a vehicle may last forever as long as it’s taken care of and maintained. Owned by Kurt Kajioka, this 1999 Audi A4 is the perfect example.

Previously featured in Street Pulse over four years ago, this ride has evolved into something even greater. It’s practically unrecognizable due to a monstrous amount of changes. Everything from the bottom to the top has been changed out or modified.

Kajioka is a frequent show participant, with many trophies to show for it.  After several years of participation, he decided that it was time for a change. “I was talking to one of my friends who’s a judge on the mainland, and he suggested a color change,” said Kajioka. With the advent of vinyl wrap technology, Kurt opted to keep it a bit more affordable. Although a lime green wrap was a possibility, Kurt chose the incredible Chrome Blue wrap you see on the car now. Originally done by Wraps Hawaii, Xero Wraps now maintains this beauty. This wrap is glorious; the car’s Kerscher & Reiger kit reflects the environment and shines like no paint job could ever do.

Kajioka ran static coilovers for many years, however, the time for change was upon him. Having to manually raise and lower the vehicle for every show combined with the comfort air suspension provides convinced him to move to a custom Accuair setup. The end result is an incredibly adjustable ride that allows for high riding when necessary while slammed to the ground when in show mode.

Popping the trunk reveals an incredible display of the aural experience as well as the gold wrapped steel hard lines leading from the Specialty Suspension wrapped tank. The hardlines are creatively routed past the tremendous Rockford Fosgate 10-inch P3 sub and Nakamichi Amps and lead down into a stunning layout of the dual polished Viair 444 compressors. All of this is tucked nicely into the spare tire compartment and carpeted to match.

You simply cannot miss the 19-inch WORK Zeast ST1 wheels coated in Imperial Gold. They’re blinding, and the sumptuous gold color was chosen specifically by Kajioka to offset the brilliant blue wrap. It truly is a head turner. Upon further inspection, you can catch a glimpse of the Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors that help provide additional stopping power.

Of course, the interior and engine haven’t been ignored. The interior is an assortment of carbon fiber, black suede, and blue tint from the included LEDs. Even the dash end caps are carbon fiber. The engine also features more carbon fiber and chrome billet goodness along with a BMC intake for a little more growl.

So, why all the changes?

“I did it because I’ve been in the show scene for so long, I needed a new flavor, something more eye catching,” Kajioka explained about the car upgrades. Needless to say, he has certainly made an impact: a great, blue shiny one.
