Ethan Kerfoot isn’t just a fan of wildly modified import cars … he’s a fan of speed, period. And speed is exactly what you get with a nitrous-powered 2012 Yamaha R1. This gorgeous bike is the third part to his trio of performance machines, hand-built in Kerfoot Garage.

This sleek and sexy bike has speed all over it. It’s oozing potential even when standing still and as a crotch rocket goes, it’s right up there with some of the sexiest bikes every made. The styled nose cone is flared and has one heckuva look for those staring into their rearview mirrors. They’re treated to some Xenon HIDs as well as an LEDglow advanced flex light kit.

Thanks to the Tech 1 fairings, the entire front fascia is one of carbon fiber, sprinkled with splashes of red and the white underbody espousing the Yamaha name brand. The red tinted visor is also emblazoned with the Kerfoot name as if advertising it any further is needed. This bike is bad.

The Tech 1 components add further flare as practically every exterior surface has been swapped out with goodies such as the intake covers, the front fender tire hugger, the upper side panels and gas tank. In addition, the gas tank, side cover, rear tail, clutch and coolant cover have been swapped out for additional Tech 1 parts.

A Powerbronze rear tire hugger fills up the rear while a custom stunt cage protects the bike. When you’re on a bike, it’s all about control and Kerfoot has given himself more by including some Vortex adjustable foot pegs, a CRG Raceline clutch lever and Speedmetal billet brake lever. RacePro anodized red titanium sprocket bolts help keep it all together.

Most bikes such as this are already fast … but apparently, that wasn’t fast enough for Kerfoot. He’s enhanced is already considerable power-to-weight ratio by modifying the bike with an SPL racing camshaft, upgrading his intake with a K&N model, bolting on Toce titanium headers and getting the right sound with a Toce exhaust.

Additional power comes in a burst of compressed nitrous thanks to an NX 35 dry shot. All of this is controlled thanks to an SPL flashed management system. Rounding out the power is a bit of additional stopping power thanks to CORE MOTO custom brake lines while the wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires.

You could almost call this the top of the trifecta … Kerfoot’s formidable garage of beauties seems to top each one after the other. When it comes to feeling that need for speed, however, it’s hard to beat riding without the cage on a nitrious-powered R1.
