Colin Snyder’s first introduction to the BMW was from his mother, who just so happened to work at a BMW dealership. Since the age of 16, he’s been aware of the quality and reputation of BMW. Now 22, after a long deployment, he felt it appropriate to purchase a new car. Although he eyed a Porsche Cayman S and a BMW M4, he soon became the proud owner of this awesome 2018 BMW M2.
For the uninformed, the BMW M2 is essentially a 2-series BMW coupe that has been given a large dose of steroids. The kind they use on horses. Shoehorned into the two-door model is the N55 engine — a twin-scroll turbocharged straight-six beast that puts out a whopping 365 horsepower with 343 pound-feet of torque. This impressive combination puts power through a seven-speed M DCT automatic gearbox to slap the power down to the pavement.
That’s quite a lot of car for a young man and a fact that Snyder happens to revel in. Although he’s content with the power, the original black exterior has been through an extensive wrap. A stunning Avery Pearl White was used as opposed to the usual 3M varieties. Hand-wrapped by Dom Branstad, the result is pure perfection as the bodylines are revealed in succulent swathes of pearl goodness and smooth shading. Several touches of carbon fiber accent the vehicle such as the front lip, the rear GTS dovetail wing and the Northwest Area mirror covers.
The wrap was actually a direct result of the fully custom 19-inch wheels by Zito. Snyder took a look at a large variety of wheels, but he settled on these Frozen Lollipop Blue ZF01s. After a month of waiting, these gorgeous specimens became a permanent fixture on the vehicle. The wheels themselves match the sexy M brake calipers that are well in view behind the arched spokes. Hankook Ventus V12 Evos are the provided rubber for this ride and are combined with the M Performance springs for appropriate drop.
The interior has been treated well with a Laguna Blue treatment to complement the loads of carbon fiber spread throughout the interior as well as the stitching. The steering wheel is a true talking point — a futuristic Dinmann CF steering wheel that is missing one-fourth of its radius. It looks straight outta Knight Rider and truly adds a statement. In addition to the carbon fiber, the super sexy AutoPreme diamond mats really add a nice touch to the interior floorboards.
Snyder believes that you should enjoy driving every day. Although the BMW M2 performs its best on the track, as a daily driver it allows for pure driving enjoyment throughout your daily duties. Whether cruising in auto or scorching the tires in manual, this car provides the thrills and the chills in powerful yet compact platform. When it comes to this ride, you don’t have to settle for less.
