The Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest celebrating beach and ocean activities has plenty of contests to watch in Waikiki all weekend. They include surfing, swimming, beach volleyball, water polo and more now through Aug. 25, ending with the Red Bull Hawaiian Party Wave on Sunday.

Hawaii’s fifth annual beachfront beer event will offer tastings of more than 100 seasonal, local and craft beers, food and entertainment including the Johnny Cash tribute band Cash’d Out. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. with early entry for VIP ticket holders. Tickets range from $45 to $80, with discounts available for military personnel.
