Despite brevity, ‘Walking Dead’ full of intriguing characters
“400 Days” does not mark the return of the acclaimed “Walking Dead” video-game franchise. It serves as a mere interlude until the second set of episodes begins sometime later this year.
‘Luigi U’ packs fun, but where’s Mario?
You see, “New Super Luigi U” doesn’t simply put Luigi in the spotlight. Instead, Nintendo remade the wildly popular “New Super Mario Bros.” game for the Wii U with Luigi as the star — and Mario oddly (and eerily) missing.
‘Deadpool’ a button-mashing mishmash
As much of a comic-book fan as I am, I admit that Deadpool is not my favorite character or one I’ve spent a ton of time with in the funny pages.
‘Fuse’ will ignite desire for online play
“Fuse” encourages group play, but should require it, because going at the action solo only leads to frustration.
‘Grid 2’ steers arcade-simulation course with ease
Not a 50-50 split of style, the game veers more toward arcade-based on the controls alone. Cars hug the road expertly, allowing novice gamers to catch on quickly, while the ability to customize each car keeps hard-core racers intrigued.
‘The Last of Us’ offers first-rate immersive experience
The most striking moments in “The Last of Us” come when the music is low, the room is dark and you once again crawl along the floor avoiding detection from a hideously mutated person and then — bam!
With ‘Remember Me,’ you’ll always have Paris — more or less
“Remember Me” provides every tease and titillation of what the futuristic French capital could be, but still feels like it’s holding back on delivering the goods.
‘Call of Juarez: Gunslinger’ delivers satisfying arcade shooting action
I must say: What a rebound for the “Call of Juarez” franchise.
‘Resident Evil: Revelations’ console release doesn’t measure up
Less than six months ago, “Resident Evil 6” arrived and disappointed both franchise fans and general shooting-game audiences alike, and left Capcom searching for a boost to keep one of its flagship franchises afloat.
