Body Triangle Counter
BY BURTON RICHARDSON
Last week we looked at the benefits of the Body Triangle from the back. It is a great way to totally control your opponent’s body while going for the choke. Here is a great counter.
Get the opponent’s entwined ankle and knee to the ground. You usually do this by rolling to your opposite side. Hook your leg over the opponent’s leg so that he can’t release the triangle. Slide your back out toward the ground and put both of your hands on the inside of the opponent’s knee. Lift your hips and push the knee away to put tremendous pressure on the opponent’s trapped ankle. This technique takes you from being caught in the body triangle to submitting your adversary with an ankle lock!
