Body Triangle
BY BURTON RICHARDSON
When at the back, the first priority is to stay at the back! This means controlling the opponent’s upper body with your arms and his lower body with your legs. The standard method of lower body control is to use “hooks”, placing your feet inside his thighs. But hooks can be pulled out. For ultimate control, use the body triangle.
Lying on your side, put your bottom foot up near the opponent’s top hip. Lock that foot under your right knee just like a triangle choke. This gives complete control of the opponent’s hips, making it extremely difficult to escape. Keep your feet on top, away from the ground. You could have trouble if the opponent gets your feet to the ground. Why? Check out next week’s article!
