It’s always a pleasure to photograph the legendary Toyota Supra. It’s even better when you’ve got your lens pointed at a Supra on the level of Jon Migia’s 1993 model. StreetPulse has featured many awesome cars over the years and Jon’s ride is part of that special collection of gems found here in the Pacific. Truly, this targa-top model is a sight to behold and a work of absolute perfection. In fact, the Mark IV A80 platform has always been a favorite of mine. The body is timeless and the V6 engine is an absolute beast capable of generating massive amounts of horsepower with the right setup.
The HKS stroker engine in this Supra is no slouch either with cylinders bored out from 3.0 liters to a displacement of 3.4. Boost Logic installed an upgraded transmission for more reliability, as well as to contain the enormous potential generated by the 74mm HKS turbo kit and its estimated 600+HP. A massive Fluidyne radiator is visible behind the monstrous bumper vent, and the upper radiator pipe is custom made in glass and glows molten red thanks to the LEDs hidden within the engine bay. An HKS Titanium exhaust provides a healthy roar when he’s on the throttle. Cracking open the hood reveals a ton of color-matched and polished parts that shine with brilliance.
The interior features a custom roll bar and comfortable yet sporty Recaro seats have been added. Awesome Defi gauges have been added for boost, exhaust and oil temperature while a NRG hub and steering wheel is bronzed and looks fantastic amid the race spec interior. An AEM version 1 computer helps to regulate the systems while its AEM wideband gauge monitors the air/fuel ratio.
Visually, this car has it where it counts. There’s an authentic, carbon fiber Top Secret vented hood, which provides additional cooling for the engine. Of immediate note is the RIDOX wide-body kit riveted on and installed by Mark Osbourne. It features a carbon fiber front lip and side skirts to offset the stunning Lamborghini White paint mixed with pearl flake. Custom carbon fiber canards help direct flow around the wide kit and sweet aftermarket carbon fiber covers are fitted to the mirrors.
In addition to the hood, a rare Top Secret rear diffuser handles the massive amount of air passing underneath the car. An Uchida carbon fiber ducktail has been added to accent the rear while gorgeous color-change LEDs are installed throughout the car. Even the rear tails have been upgraded to the 97-98 spec models, which are of much higher quality visually than the originals. To complete the look, the front headlights have also been swapped to the ’93-’96 euro headlights.
Featuring no airbags, just straight static stancing, the stunning wheels are Work Varianza T1-S that feature enormous Wilwood brakes and rotors to help put the stopping power down to the Nitto INVO tires.
Jon has put a ton of work into this ride and it shows. He always makes an impression at the events, including the upcoming 2015 MDA Aloha Custom Car Show & Cruise, scheduled for March 21-22 at Aloha Stadium.
