Sheet metal worker Shayne Biven of Pacific Palisades said he was always interested in fighting. “I just thought I’d give it a try and ended up loving it,” said the Pearl City High grad. Though he has no upcoming fights scheduled just yet, he’s looking for any professional 125-lbs. matches for the future. In the meantime, he trains out of Tribe of Judah and 808 Top Team, where UFC veteran Ronald Jhun and wife Kim Kamaka make sure he trains hard on a consistent basis. Bivens starts his day at 7 a.m. at his construction profession and aside from Powerhouse Gym at 808 Top Team he also trains at Chris Ranes Fitness. Bivens stated he doesn’t really have a strong point, making him a well-rounded fighter with a record of 7-1.
