MMA is forever evolving, and that’s one aspect of the sport Isaac Hopps (MMA record 2-0) loves. At 13 years of age, Hopps fell in love with the sport. “But I started out strictly as a kick boxer until two years ago,” he explains. He was watching a group called the Eastsidaz training out of Mike Malone’s garage.  “Seeing the hard work and dedication they put in day by day sparked a hunger in me,” says Hopps, whose kickboxing record stands at 17-4. “I wanted to be just like them.” Currently the construction worker trains out of MMA Development and gives much credit to coach Brandon Wolff, Rob Hesia and Chris West. He will be stepping into the cage once again (this time against Tim Teves) June 14 for Star Elite Cagefighting and Man Up & Stand Up at The Fix. “I’ll definitely put on a show to my best ability, so come out and enjoy with a great night’s worth of fights,” he says. “Make sure to come out and support local fighters.” … “Iron Sharpens Iron” has been deemed an inspirational story of a Hawaii-based MMA team. Writer King Eddie takes readers through the triumphs and tragedies of the group. The comic is being funded on Kickstarter and aims to provide a positive message out to the community, along with some “kick-butt art and action.” Check out mmacomix.com for more info!
