Stocks Position
By Burton Richardson
When in the top position, you are always looking to drop bombs in order to finish the fight. But there is something in the way of that outcome- your opponent’s defense. Trapping at least one arm will put you in a vastly superior position.
Secure the half-mount by keeping one knee snug against his back so it is difficult for him to roll back. Your other foot should pull in tight at his waist so he can’t move. Now put your arm under the opponent’s neck and grab his bottom wrist. Pull back and down to pin his arm to the mat. Use your forearm to crank his neck forward to further inhibit his movement. Now drop those strikes until taps out or gives you an easy submission.
