As the World Series of Fighting approaches its anniversary in November, the promotion announced plans to crown champions in several weight classes.

The first belt will be awarded at next month’s recently announced WSOF 6 card, but the first steps toward a title will be made Saturday during the WSOF 5 event at the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J.

Saturday’s card features the semifinals of the middleweight tournament and will pair Dave Branch vs. Danillo Villefort and Elvis Mutapcic vs. Jesse Taylor.

Heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Mike Kyle will meet in the main event. The rest of the main card, which can be seen live on NBC Sports at 3 p.m. HST, features heavyweights Rolles Gracie Jr. vs. Derrick Mehmen and featherweights Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Waylon Lowe.

On Oct. 26, Josh Burkman will face Steve Carl for the inaugural welterweight title at WSOF 6.
